In the fall of 2005 PAT TOWNE directed GOREY STORIES for Sacred Fools Theatre Company in Hollywood, CA adapted by Steven Currens.

Gorey Stories is a theatrical interpretation of the works of the macabre cartoonist Edward Gorey. It is a play with music.  Perhaps not so much a play as a series of scenes presenting a varied assortment of weird characters, and humorous, horrid, happenings drawn from the best of Edward Gorey's illustrated works.

Mr. Towne's production of GOREY STORIES sold out every night of its run, and the production was awarded the Best Musical Ovation Award as well as a nomination for Best Direction of a Musical for Towne.
