Middle School is hell. Especially for a seventh-grade girl in the mid-1980s whose ‘friends’ tease her relentlessly, whose father is an ogre, who wants desperately for her mother to run away with the priest she’s having an affair with, and whose stupid science project is due and she can find NO ONE to help her with it.

A FROGGY BECOMES is a new play by Becky Wahlstrom which received its world premiere production at Open Fist Theatre Company in 2024 under the direction of Pat Towne with choreography by CJ Merrimen.

A FROGGY BECOMES is a simple silly little story about a little girl who discovers she doesn’t have to let the misfortunes of life stop her from living the way she wants to. And she wants you to join her. To lift yourself out of whatever hell you’re in, whatever loss you’ve endured, whatever crap the world has thrown at you, and cry out NOT TODAY, DEFEAT!  To get off your ass and stop waiting for the world to make you happy and to ‘fight like Ninjas!’ to make the world the place you want it to be.​​
