WHAT IS THE THANKSGIVING PLAY ?
THE THANKSGIVING PLAY is a delicious satirical farce written by Native American playwright Larissa FastHorse. It casts a cynical eye on cultural assumptions, political correctness, and performative social awareness.

A rebel high school drama teacher is facing a petition calling for her termination. Desperate and armed with several educational and cultural awareness grants, she brings together three actors that will devise a play about the 'REAL' first Thanksgiving. Or Native American Heritage Month. Or just November in general. With yoga instructor (and boyfriend) Jaxton, elementary teacher Caden, and professional actress Alicia, Logan is out to save her career by telling a culturally conscious story about what it means to be Native American… even though all of the performers are white.
PAT TOWNE stars as the Caden Green, a third-grade teacher who dreams of the stage and thinks this Thanksgiving show will be his ticket away from those godawful children. The Thanksgiving Play was directed by Edgar Landa for Off Square Theatre Company of Jackson, Wyoming.
