WHAT IS HOBOKEN TO HOLLYWOOD ?
BACK TO
THE THEATRE
HOBOKEN TO HOLLYWOOD is an original play with music that celebrates some of the best songs ever written. The production starred Luca Ellis and was directed by Jeremy Aldridge, produced by Peach Reasoner & Associates, and the 12 piece big band was led by Musical Director Paul Litteral.

The music of the evening includes the works of Count Basie, Hoagy Carmichael, Sammy Cahn, Lerner and Lowe, Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer, Jimmy Van Heusen, Bobby Troupe, Ray Henderson and Mort Dixon, and many more.

The setting for the show is a Hollywood sound stage in the mid-1960s, where Nelson Riddle and his Orchestra and a television crew are getting ready for the evening’s taping of a prime-time special starring 'The Crooner' himself. Technicians and band members scurry across the stage as the audience enters the theater.
The audience for the play is to become the audience for the taping of the special.
They are greeted and told what to expect as the show is about to begin. The house grows dark, the pre-recorded intro begins to roll across the monitors, and the band begins to play.
Then the legendary singer’s silhouette glides up to the microphone, and an evening of the greatest music ever written begins…
